Afro-pop artist Ringo Madlingozi files for divorce after 20 years of marriage
Afro-pop musician and EFF MP Ringo Madlingozi is due to divorce his wife Nomfundo Nyathi.
According to a Sunday world publication, Madlingozi’s lawyers informed Nyathi a fortnight ago that he would file for divorce after the two failed to rekindle their love and repair their faltering union.
News that Madlingozi and Nyathi are heading for divorce was revealed by the former lovebirds’ associates.
“The hammer has fallen, it’s over. We are gutted. But what can we do? It is what it is,” said the associate, who did not want to be named for fear of comprising the relationship with the former couple.
According to those close to the couple, Mandlingozi told them he decided to file for divorce because they had been unable to resolve their differences.
In April 2008, Sunday World reported that Nyathi moved out of their love nest in a huff after complaining of the artist’s cavalier association with women and his failure to hit the sack at home.
