Tony Forbes, father of late rapper AKA, has condemned the Madlanga Commission for showing CCTV footage of his son’s 2023 murder outside a Durban restaurant during a hearing.
Forbes questioned why the full graphic clip was played instead of a single screenshot, arguing that, despite trigger warnings, it forced the family to relive traumatic events. The hearing forms part of the commission’s probe into alleged police investigative lapses and broader justice system corruption.
