Bafana-Bafana kicks soccer giants out of AFCON
Two goals from Evidence Makgopa and Teboho Mokoena handed Bafana Bafana a special win and display against Morocco in their Afcon Round of 16 clash – coach Hugo Broos said that he was proud as the 1996 African champions kicked Africa’s highest-ranked team out of the Afcon tournament in what he called a special win.
“I don’t think that I have to tell you that I’m very happy today,” Bafana coach Broos said after beating Morocco in a special win.
“We beat Morocco and it’s not only because we are in the quarterfinals, but beating a team like Morocco is something special.
“This is a very good team with very good players, but we did the right analysis and the way we played, the tactic was the right one.”
On Tuesday morning, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane asked for key winning elements and combination play.
“Yella Shabab! Confidence, Resilience, Hardwork, Tactical Discipline and Teamwork. Lets put our combination play, lots of teams struggle to stop us. Shika, Lion of Juddah you have the extensive experience and leadership of playing these big games,” Mosimane said to Bafana via X.
“Asiyeni Bafowethu!,” the former Bafana tactician concluded.
