BUS ACCIDENT KILLS A THREE MONTHS TODDLER NEAR MATATIELE R56
A three months old baby and an adult female have died in a bus crash on the R56 road between Cedarville and Matatiele in the Eastern Cape Province on Tuesday morning.
The Intercity bus was travelling from Gauteng heading to Matatiele with 46 occupants on-board including the driver.
Driver lost control of the bus and as a consequence, it overturn killing 2 occupants in the scene (A 3 months old girl and an adult female.
Out of the injured 38, 23 are seriously injured, while others are slightly and 5 unharmed including both drivers. Jaws of life had to be used to retrieve one of the deceased as she was trapped inside the bus.
Some of the injured have been transferred to Nelson Mandela Academic hospital for further medical management.
A case of Culpable Homicide is being investigated.
