EASTERN CAPE MEC NQATHA SADDENED BY NKOSI MAKAULA’S DEATH

The MEC for Eastern Cape Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Hon. Xolile Nqatha has learnt with great sadness and sorrow the passing of the member of the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders Nkosi Thembisile Nokhwezi Makaula. She passed away on Monday (23 August 2021) in hospital after a short illness.

Nkosi Makaula joined the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders in September 2017. She was due to complete the term next year (2022). She served as a member of the Executive Council of the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders. She was also a head of Makaula Traditional Council in the Umzimvubu Local Municipality.

Makaula has served the traditional institutions with humility and diligence. She has been instrumental in the developmental agenda of women in the province. COGTA MEC Hon. Xolile Nqatha has expressed his heartfelt condolences to Makaula family. “I would like to send my deepest condolences to the Makaula family, to the traditional leaders and the entire COGTA staff .” said MEC Nqatha.
