Khitleli’s charge plea bargaining to be heard next month
26-year-old murder accused, Boitumelo Khitleli is expected to state whether he pleads guilty or not to the charges he is accused of at the Maluti Regional Court on 16 August 2021. On Thursday, the Court adjourned his case because the state has not yet received the outcome of the accused’s plea bargain.
Khitleli’s case has been dragging for over 9 months at the Maluti court. He was apprehended by the police last year October for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, who was also the mother of his son.
Mpharwane Makumane was brutally murdered the following day after her plea for protection against her boyfriend at the Maluti Police Station fell on deaf ears.
A month ago, Khitleli through his lawyers intended to plead guilty to two of the three cases set against him.
He is facing three counts of charges; murder, attempted murder and theft.
He remains in custody.
