Thabo Makhethe granted bail of R10,000
The 67-year-old triple murder accused, Thabo Makhethe has finally been granted a bail of R10,000 by the Pietermaritzburg High Court after four months in custody. Makhethe was arrested in May by the Avondale police for allegedly killing Faro brothers in Queens Mercy
During the judgement, the court said Makhethe must report to the Avondale police station on Mondays and not interfere or intimidate witnesses.
Makhethe handed himself over to the police on Sunday of May 23, a day after the fatal shooting of the brothers. According to a police report, the suspect accosted the deceased, Tukelo 32, Lucky 28 and Katleho 23 while in their car. He shot them a number of times leaving Tukelo and Katleho dead on the scene while Lucky died on the way to the hospital.
Seven 9mm cartridges and one projectile were found on the scene by the police. According to Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, the shooting was related to the stock theft.
