Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the 2026/27 national contracts for Proteas men and women, running from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. The deals include full contracts, hybrid agreements, and Players of National Interest (PONI) arrangements.
For the men, first-time contracts go to Dewald Brevis, Ottneil Baartman, Corbin Bosch, and Matthew Breetzke. On the women’s side, wicketkeeper-batter Karabo Meso earned her maiden national contract.
CSA’s Enoch Nkwe said the selections recognise past performances while preparing for a busy season, including the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The Proteas women are currently competing in a three-match ODI series in New Zealand, holding a 1-0 lead. Their focus will soon shift to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in mid-June, with a five-match T20I series against India scheduled from 17 April to regain momentum after a 4-1 loss to the White Ferns.
Meanwhile, the Proteas men are preparing to host the Cricket World Cup in South Africa next year, with a provisional window in October. They also face a packed home summer, hosting Australia, England, and Bangladesh.
