ANOTHER GRUESOME DEATH OF A WOMAN IN NQANQARU(MACLEAR)
Residents of eBlokweni Location near Nqanqarhu (Maclear) in the province of the Eastern Cape woke up to shocking news on Monday morning after a gruesome killing of a woman by her boyfriend. An eye witness, Sinazo Mhlaba told The Informer that Depuo Phuthuma was found dead in her room with her body beheaded. Her boyfriend Vuyo Makamba was also sleeping next to her with stab wounds in the neck and the body.
Mhlaba said the couple was always fighting and it was Makhamba who was abusive especially when he is drunk. “I was called by the neighbours to come and see what has happened. When we came closer to the door we could see the blood coming from inside the room. When opening the door we found her body lying on the floor with her head on the chest. The boyfriend was also lying next to her with stab wounds in the neck and upper body but still alive. He was taken to hospital.
Mhlaba alleges that Makhamba was trying to kill himself after killing Phuthuma.
This is the second horrific killing of a woman to happen in the area this year. In March 27 year old Bongeka Madini was allegedly killed by his boyfriend, Thembinkosi Mtshemla 55. According to reports then, Mtshemla Killed Madini and cut her body into pieces throwing them in toilet. Mtshemla did this while out on bail of another murder case. His case is still continuing in the court and is in custody.
