KWABACA POLICE ACCUSED OF KILLING STOCK OWNERS

Police in KwaBaca stand accused of killing a stock owner and injuring another after allegedly opened fire to members of the community who were protecting their stock from suspected stock thieves at Njijini location KwaBaca on Friday night. . Now the case is investigated by IPID. Councilor Noluvuyo Sonyabashi told the Informer that an unknown number of men were seen letting sheep and goats out of the kraal from one of the homestead. Members of the community were alerted and they made a follow up.
Community members managed to find 24 sheep and 8 goats at a distance and suspected stock thieves ran away. After sometime police van arrived but passed the community who were protecting the recovered stock. They went to the opposite direction.
When they came back they allegedly opened fire to the community killing 59 year Nyaniso Makaula and injuring Mzikantu Makaula a brother to Nyaniso”, said Sonyabashe. She said the brothers were inside a car when they were shot. Mzikantu was rushed to Madzikane KaZulu hospital with injuries.
“Investigators from IPID visited the scene on Saturday to investigate the incident. It is reported that two empty cartridges were found by IPID with allegations that many of the cartridges were collected by members of the public order police.
