A Mount Ayliff Magistrate court has denied bail to a well known Pastor who is facing charges of rape at eMaxesibeni in the Eastern Cape today. Pastor Vizicelo Phakade of the God’s Power Family Church is accused of raping a 16year old Zanokhanyo Private School learner.
The court heard that Pastor Phakade dragged the learner to an open ground and raped her a number of times. According to reports the learner who is also a friend to pastor’s daughter, lost an instrument box and was found by Pastor Phakade. He then told the learner that he has found her instrument box and invited her to come and fetch it. That is when he got the chance to allegedly rape her.
The learner reported the matter to her parents who went and open up a case at police station.
It is reported that Pastor Phakade tried to convince the parents to discuss this without involving police but invain. Pastor was arrested on Wednesday since the court appearance on Thursday. During the court appearance community members were protesting outside the court demanding that he must be denied bail.
