SIX DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH EMPLOYEES RELEASED ON BAIL
Six employees from the Eastern Cape Department of Health’s Emergency and Medical care Services appeared at Zwelitsha Magistarte Court on Tuesday (22/08/23) for allegations of fraud.
Palesa Patient Molekane 46, an ambulance practitioner in Aliwal North, Nonceba Maggie Mpelwane 54, a controller in Aliwal North, Ntombizodwa Precious Sibidla 43, basic life support at Burgersdorp, Lebuhang Eunice Raisa Busakhwe 47, controller in Aliwal North, Sicelo Micheal Sonjica 49, former Emergency Officer in Bizana and Sempe Johannes Mohare 42 emergency care practitioner ambulance assistance appeared for submitting fraudulent documents so that they can employment.
It is alleged that the six employees were employed in 2015 to work for the Emergency Medical Care Services section of the department of Health. The department requested them to submit their original Matric certificates and they failed to do so. Then the department embarked on verification of qualifications where their grade 12 certificates were declared fraudulent.
The matter was then referred to Hawks and the six employees were arrested on Monday. On Tuesday they appeared before court and were released on bail of R5000 each. The case was remanded for the 11 of September.
