Cedarville Police in the Eastern Cape have arrested two male suspects for allegedly beating a woman to death at Mvenyane location in Matatiele on Sunday morning. Police in Cedarville have confirmed the arrest of a 24 and a 47 year old men saying that they may appear in court on Monday or Tuesday as investigations are continuing. One of the suspects is said to be a member of the South African National Defence Force.
According to reports Ntombizandile Njeje 39 died at about 3 in the morning of Sunday the 19th of December after she was allegedly beaten by these men. Reports said Njeje who was selling liquor at her home to make a leaving was beaten by these two men for almost three hours.
It is said that what seemed to be a successful business day for Njeje began to change for worse after the time to close for business arrived on Saturday night. She closed the gates to her shebeen preventing more customers not to come in. It is said that one of the suspects forced himself inside the yard by jumping the fence. A fight broke out between Njeje and the suspect. Seeing that he is not winning the fight the suspect decided to leave. While leaving he said he is going to come back with his friends.
Indeed the suspect came back with two men and they began to beat Njeje. It is reported that the two men used their fists and kicked Njeje in the body something that took about three hours. All this happened in front of her children with Njeje pleading for forgiveness. She died at three in the morning an hour after the suspects have left.
