Member of Parliament Baxolile Nodada says the Democratic Alliance (DA) joined the Government of National Unity with a clear objective — to eventually remove the African National Congress (ANC) from leading South Africa.
Nodada made these remarks during an interview on the Bona Fela Podcast produced by The Informer Digital TV, where he spoke about the DA’s vision for the country and the challenges facing many communities.
According to Nodada, the DA believes it is the only political party capable of delivering better services and opportunities for all South Africans. He stressed that the party does not govern based on race but aims to improve the lives of every citizen.
“The DA has a plan to create more opportunities that will allow a large number of people to find work in this country,” said Nodada.
Nodada explained that he joined the DA at a young age while studying at Nelson Mandela University. Responding to critics who question why he joined what some describe as a “white organisation,” despite the presence of many Black-led political movements in South Africa, Nodada said his decision was inspired by leaders who fought for justice for all South Africans.
He cited figures such as Helen Suzman, who opposed apartheid and advocated for the rights and freedom of both Black and White citizens.
Nodada also expressed strong dissatisfaction with service delivery, particularly in rural communities within Alfred Nzo District Municipality. He said many residents still struggle with a lack of basic services, especially access to water.
“Many communities still do not have water. Those in positions of authority are acting selfishly and are not working for the people but for themselves,” he said.
He further criticised South African voters for repeatedly electing the ANC despite growing frustrations over governance.
“People continue to vote the ANC into power even though they can see that it has been failing them for the past thirty years,” Nodada added.
