Dozens of pupils injured after scholar transport capsizes
An undisclosed number of Moeketsi Grave S.S.S pupils were rushed to the Mount Flecther Bequest Taylor Hospital, Eastern Cape on Thursday after their scholar bus overturned at Pabalong. The bus was transporting learners from school when it capsized and rolled multiples times. Although no one succumbed to the accident, a number of students are reported sustained serious injuries. ranging from broken legs, broken arms and ribs. The cause of the accident is still sketchy. Police are investigating.
A month ago, two learners from Ntabankulu High School in the EC died when a bus they were travelling to school in overturned at Mantlaneni Location in Ntabankulu.
The bus had 9 occupants on board, 7 others occupants including the driver were rushed to hospital with injuries.
It is alleged that the driver lost control of the bus and it overturned. One learner was declared dead on the scene while the other died on arrival in the hospital.
