Five people are believed to have died following a devastating head-on collision between a bakkie and a light motor vehicle on the N1 near Modimolle in Limpopo on Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred near Mookgophong at Boekenhout, triggering a swift response from emergency services. Authorities have temporarily closed the northbound lane, with traffic being diverted to the southbound lane to ease congestion.
Emergency Medical Services, South African Police Service, and traffic officials remain on the scene.
Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and consider alternative routes where possible.
