Four people have died in a head-on collision between a VW Polo and Toyota Urban Cruiser on the R63 road just outside Middledrift in the Eastern Cape.
According to Eastern Cape Department of Transport Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, a Toyota with 3 occupants collided with a VW Polo with only the driver at about 13:30. The Polo burst into flames shortly after the deceased body had been removed.
Three people died on the scene while one person died on arrival at Grey Hospital, eQonce.
A culpable homicide docket has been opened.
