The Metro FM Music Awards 2026 are heating up, and it looks like this year’s hosts are giving fans all the excitement before the show even starts! South African DJ and radio queen Lerato Kganyago is teaming up with actor and TV presenter Lawrence Maleka to host the glitzy event at the Durban ICC on 25 April. The awards will air live on SABC 1 and stream on SABC+ at 20:00.
Lerato couldn’t hide her enthusiasm, telling Metro FM, “I’m super excited about hosting this one with Lawrence. When they told me I said, ‘I couldn’t think of anybody else.’” She’s no stranger to the stage, having co-hosted the 2023 awards with Katlego Maboe.
For Lawrence, this marks his very first time hosting the prestigious ceremony, and he’s clearly living the dream. “I was pretty excited and stoked. It was one of those bucket-list moments. And when I found out who I’m working with I was like, ‘Come on bro!’”
Fans can expect sparks, laughs, and plenty of star power when Lerato and Lawrence take over the stage
