Kwaito star L’vovo Derrango has shared updates on his ongoing recovery following a minor stroke he suffered during a performance in December 2022.
The artist, born Thokozani Ndlovu, collapsed mid-performance in Indwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal, leaving him with weakness on his right side and requiring extensive rehabilitation.
The health scare came just days after the hospitalisation of his close friend and fellow musician Mampintsha, adding to what fans described as a difficult period for the Durban-based star.
In recent months, L’vovo has been documenting his recovery journey, including a television appearance in January 2026 where he spoke candidly about his condition and demonstrated progress using a robotic rehabilitation glove. He also returned to the stage in February, delivering a gospel performance at the 034 Festival.
Fans have taken to social media to express both concern and support, with many noting his visible weight loss and physical changes. Prominent radio host Sizwe Dhlomo called for compassion, urging the public to be sensitive when commenting on the musician’s appearance.
Despite the challenges, supporters have praised L’vovo’s resilience, sharing clips of his performances and recovery milestones as he continues his journey back to full health.
