The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has formally requested suspended Mpumalanga Provincial Police Commissioner Daphney Manamela to submit a sworn affidavit and give testimony under oath regarding serious allegations involving the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Manamela, who is currently suspended from her post.
Manamela has reportedly made serious allegations against senior SAPS leadership, including National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola. She claims that a multi-disciplinary provincial task team investigating serious crimes was disbanded during her suspension, allegedly to shield politically connected individuals from scrutiny.
She further alleged that senior officers manipulated case dockets, creating the impression of progress while effectively preventing proper prosecution of suspects.
The allegations have intensified concerns about accountability, transparency, and integrity within SAPS.
