Mamelodi Sundowns edged past Lamontville Golden Arrows 2–1 in an entertaining Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The Brazilians took the lead in the 28th minute when Teboho Mokoena scored a clinical opener, giving Sundowns an early advantage. Just after the break, Iqraam Rayners doubled their lead in the 58th minute, putting Sundowns firmly in control.
Lamontville Golden Arrows fought back and reduced the deficit when Junior Dion converted a penalty in the 77th minute, giving the home side hope of a comeback.
Despite Arrows’ late pressure, Sundowns held on to secure all three points, keeping their strong form in the Betway Premiership. The win sees Mamelodi Sundowns move to second place on the log, just behind league leaders Orlando Pirates.
