Deputy President Paul Mashatile has firmly denied allegations made at the Madlanga Commission linking him to businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
In a statement, the Presidency said Mashatile “categorically rejects” claims by Fannie Nkosi that he had met or was due to meet Matlala.
“The Deputy President is prepared to fully cooperate with the Commission should any clarity be required,” the statement read.
Mashatile further stated that he does not know the individuals mentioned in the testimony and has never had any dealings with them.
The Presidency also emphasised that Mashatile was out of the country at the time the alleged meeting was said to have taken place.
