MATATIELE POLICE DETECTIVE ARRESTED FOR SOLICITING A BRIBE
A Matatiele Police Detective has been arrested by SAPS Organised Crime Unit on Thursday for a bribery related case.
According to reports the police detective was investigating fraud related case that involves illegal sale of sites in Maluti. It is said that the sites would be sold to different individuals using fake Identity Documents and letters of authority.
Allegations continue by saying the detective was collecting bribes from individuals involved in this crime. One of them contacted members of the Organised Crime Unit before giving the detective the money.
It is said that an amount of R10 000 paid as a bribe was found in possession of the detective. The detective will appear for bail application in July.
