Memorial service set for late COPE leader Mosiuoa ‘Terror’ Lekota in Soweto

The memorial service for late former Defence Minister and Congress of the People (COPE) leader Mosiuoa ‘Terror’ Lekota will take place on Wednesday, 11 March, at Regina Mundi Catholic Church from 12:00 to 15:00.

Family spokesperson Dennis Bloem said the service will bring together people from all walks of life, across political backgrounds and faiths, to celebrate the life of the veteran freedom fighter.

Lekota passed away on 4 March at the age of 77 after a period of illness.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that he will be accorded a Special Official Funeral, Category 2, in Bloemfontein on 14 March.

The funeral will feature ceremonial elements provided by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
