1 November declared public holiday

The day of the Local Government Elections has been declared a public holiday. This was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday.

Millions of South Africans on November 1, are expected to head to the polls to vote for their preferred party to run their local municipality. Ramaphosa further urged the public to exercise their right by voting.

Voters will only be able to cast their votes at the polling stations in wards where they are registered.
