ANC’s NDC finds Masuku and Diko not guilty!
The Special Investigating Unit says former Gauteng Health MEC, Dr Bandile misinterpreted the African National Congress’ National Disciplinary Committee’s ruling. This is after Masuku announced in a statement he released that he and the former presidential spokesperson, Khusela Diko have been cleared for any wrongdoing by the ANCs’ NDC. The disciplinary proceedings took place after allegations that the pair was involved in the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) corruption. SIU in its investigation found that Masuku failed to oversee the protocols involving the procurement of PPEs. Masuku in his stamen said” I welcome the ruling of the ANC’s National Disciplinary Hearing Committee as communicated to my legal team on Friday 21 May 2021. The ruling comes as a result of my appeal to the NDC to appeal the results and sanctions of the Gauteng Provincial Disciplinary Hearing Committee.
Masuku further wrote” I am happy and relieved that in the end, a fairer objective robust ANC tribunal has upheld my appeal, protected my rights and restored my membership, this is a victory for justice
The former MEC went on to say that during the ANC NDC acknowledged the SIU reports
“On the 12 April 2021, a full bench of the North Gauteng High Court per Sutherland J empatherically found that the SIU findings (dubbed by the Court) that I was involved in corruption and nepotism are devoid of merit. At the time, the SIU had effectively propped me as the propped as proverbial poster boy of Covid-19 related corruption. Specifically, the court found out that the SIU saw no crime being committed by me and that there was no basis for civil action against me. In its ruling, the NDC acknowledged the court ruling.”
It is still not clear whether the two will be redeployed to their previous positions
