Court recommends mental evaluation for man found with girlfriend’s body parts

Murder accused Flavio Hlabangwane is set to receive mental evaluation after a second suicide attempt before his second court appearance on Monday.

Hlabangwane’s lawyer, Gift Mcube, told the court that he would be submitting an application for the 26-year-old on his next appearance to undergo mental evaluation.

NPA spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane elaborated on the matter.

“The court further ordered Hlabangwane should be detained at the hospital’s correctional services section in Johannesburg due to the fact that he has already tried to take his life twice,” Mjonondwane clarified.

Hlabangwane case has been postponed to the 30th of November 2021.
