EASTERN CAPE MORTUARY WORKERS DIE IN A CAR CRASH
Use of alcohol is believed to have played a role in the accident

Two men believed to be workers of an Eastern Cape funeral Palour have died after a mortuary bakkie they were travelling in overturned on R391 between Burgersdorp and Steynsburg yesterday night.
According to transport Spokesperson Unathi Binqose another man who hitchhiked on the bakkie sustained slight injuries. Binqose said, the Toyota mortuary bakkie was travelling from Steynsburg when the driver lost control. The bakkie overturned and two men died on arrival at hospital. The hitchhiker was taken to Burgersdorp Provincial Hospital with severe injuries.
Commenting about the cause of accident Binqose said alcohol use may have played a role in this crash. “Suspicions of use of alcohol in a vehicle that cannot be linked to such a behaviour has called for more vigilance on the side of the traffic officials. It also calls on road travellers to be more cautious and take each and every car on the road very serious”, said Binqose.
A case of Culpable Homicide has been opened for further investigations.
