EC attorney to be sentenced for raping wife
The sentencing of a 49-year-old East London Attorney is underway in the Grahamstown High Court. The Court on Monday found the accused guilty of raping and assaulting his wife.
On Monday, the 49-year-old attorney was found guilty of raping his wife twice, in February 2012 and in May 2019.
Handing down the judgement, Judge Judith Roberson rejected the attorney’s defence that he lacked criminal capacity, caused by a combination of alcohol abuse and a diagnosis of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
