EC man kills and buries disabled girlfriend in a back yard
Eastern Cape man has admitted to murdering his disabled girlfriend and burying her in a shallow grave in his rental place after community members beat him to a pulp before taking him to a nearby police station. The remains of the 23-year-old, Anoyolo Ngetu were exhumed in a shallow grave by the Slovo Park community members after confronting the accused.
In a video that has gone viral on social media platforms, the bloody man can be seen screaming and confessing to the murder while surrounded by the community members who are seen carrying sticks. The murder suspect said he was about to tell the elders about the incident before they got haunted about the shallow grave.
Anoyolo was buried last week at her home village of Gxididi with the rescue of a Good Samaritan, Ibandla LaseMthini Evangelical Movement (ILEM) that has stepped in to assist her destitute family as they were unable to bury Anoyolo. ILEM took the effort to carry the funeral after being approached Babalwa Mtumtum of Ibandlala LaseMthini Evangelical Movement. Mtumtum said the church took a decision to rescue the family and fully support them in preparation for the burial arrangements after they have been approached by the concerned community members.
She described the situation of the family as something which needs special attention because there are six members there”Out of that six, four members are mentally disturbed including a 3-year old child of the deceased. The situation needs an immediate intervention”
Mtumtum said they have also approached the department of social development to assess the situation and human settlement to intervene.
