EC serial rapist gets six life terms
Forty-four-year-old Gqeberha seriel rapist Thembenkosi Ngcolomba was on Wednesday sentenced to 6 life terms by the Port Elizabeth High Court. Ngomba was apprehended by the police in 2018 after almost two years of a crime spree.
According to Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the convicted rapist used Facebook to lure the women and apparently told them he was a famous local soccer star.
After befriending them, he would then arrange to meet and rape his victims.
Naidu says he produced a screwdriver or a knife, raped the women in an open field, and in six of the cases, robbed them of their cellphones and cash.
