EC truck driver dies in head-on collision
Matatiele: Motorists travelling on the N2 from Gqeberha to East London are advised to use the R72 as an alternative route. This is after a head-on collision involving two trucks claimed the life of one of the truck drivers, while another truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
According to Provincial Traffic Department spokesperson Charles Bramwell the two trucks collided shortly before 7 am on Tuesday. The driver of the other truck was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
One of the trucks was carrying a full load of pineapples. The wreckage of the 2 trucks and the pineapples that are scattered all over the road has forced a complete blockage. Motorists travelling on the N2 from Gqeberha to East London are advised to use the R72 as an alternative route.
