Enyobeni tavern owners wants court to drop charges

Owners of the Enyobeni tavern where 21 minors were killed in East London in the Eastern Cape have filed papers in the regional court to have charges against them dropped.

Siyakhangela Ndevu and his wife Vuyokazi Ndevu are facing string of charges which include selling alcohol to minors.

According to defence lawyer, Precious Daniel, the couple did not sell alcohol to minors. Meanwhile, in the footage presented in court as evidence, Siyakhangela is seen selling alcohol..

The couple was arrested following the death of 21 young people in June last year in Scenery Park.
