Eskom ends two nights of unplanned power interruption

Eskom has finally come out to play and end people’s frustration following two days of no electricity in some parts of the Eastern Cape, including Matatiele in the Alfred Nzo District.

The financial embattled entity on Thursday said the power interruption was caused by strong winds” Eskom is pleased to inform the public of the progress in restoring power supply to interrupted parts of the Eastern Cape due to strong winds and veld fires that passed through on the night of 29 June.”

According to the entity more than 50 000 customers were affected and that number has since been reduced to just below 1400. Skete, Tholang, Motsekoa, Sibi, Khoapa and Hlomendlini in Matatiele are some of the parts that were affected by the two days power interruptions.
