Fees must fall activist bail ruling to be heard today

Fees must fall activist, Bonginkosi Khanyile is expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates Court to hear the outcome of his bail application. Khanyile is facing charges in connection with the violent riots that left more than 350 people dead in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, a week after former President Jacob Zuma handed himself to the Escort prison for contempt of court.

The charges against Khanyile include incitement to commit violence and breaking lockdown regulations with regards to gatherings.

During court proceedings, a video of Khanyile instructing people in Durban to loot and commit arson until Zuma is freed from prison was displayed.
