Five workers placed on leave amid rape accusations of a grade 1 learner
Five general employees at Khensani Primary School in Soshanguve, Pretoria have been placed on leave pending an investigation into an alleged rape of a grade 1 learner.
Gauteng MEC Lesufi Panyaza said the five employees had been asked not to report for duty following threats from the community that they will burn them. Lesufi on Thursday visited the school to find out more information about the alleged incident. He said there were discrepancies in the submitted report
”I can confirm that there are that are not clear. For example, I am told the alleged incident happened on Monday. The school came back on Tuesday and nothing was reported, and the report only came on Wednesday. That’s one aspect I want to satisfy myself,”said Lesufi.
MEC said, his department will be guided by experts because of the sensitivity of the case.
Police are still investigating the case.
