Gauteng education department aims to vaccinate at least 125 934 teachers

The Gauteng Education MEC, Mr Panyaza Lesufi, will on Wednesday, 23 June 2021 be vaccinated at Rabasotho Community Hall in Tembisa.
Among others, MEC Lesufi will be taking the jab with the Head of Department (HoD), Senior Management and representatives from various Labour Unions.

The vaccination programme in Gauteng is aimed at inoculating approximately 125 934 employees, which includes educators, education support staff and officials at 46 vaccination sites in all regions across the province.

The Gauteng department said it believes that the vaccination drive will effectively begin the process of normalising schooling and mitigating the disruptive impact of COVID-19 in our schools.
