Lesedi FM presenter case postponed
Husband of estranged wife changes legal team on the 11th hour

The Bloemfontein Regional Court postponed the attempted murder case against the husband of of the Lesedi FM Current Affairs presenter, Mackenziie Ratselane. Ratselane appeared briefly on Wednesday in the Bloemfontein Regional Court on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. However, the case was adjourned to the 19m May 2021 for further negotiations between the state and the defence.
This is after Ratselane changed his legal representative. NPA Spokesperson in the Fress State, Phaladi Shuping, sad they had hopes that the accused would plead guilty “We were hoping that we were going to get a plea from the side of the accused, but when he got to court today he informed the legal representative to inform the court that there are issues that he still wants to negotiate with the state. We don’t know what those issues are.
“So, the magistrate granted postponement up until the 19th so that the state and the defence can iron out whatever issues the defence wants to discuss with the state.”
