Man rapes and poison’s daughter before dumping her body

A middle-aged man from Old Payne in Mthatha briefly appeared before the Mthatha Magistrate court for rape and attempted murder. During court proceedings, it was revealed that the suspect allegedly raped his daughter then poisoned her before dumping her unconscious body in an open field not far from his home.
The victim was found by community members still alive and she was taken into an undisclosed hospital whereby she is in a stable condition.
On Tuesday, during the bail application, the suspect’s attorney did not pitch and Magistrate Mvuselelo Malindi adjourned the case to 02 November for formal bail application and emphasized that the legal representative of the accused must be available on this date.
