Man sentenced for submitting a fake matric certificate for a policeman position

The Northern Cape Magistrate’s Court has sentenced Keobakile Riet,28, to a fine of R1000 or six months imprisonment wholly suspended for three years.
Riet was arrested for submitting a fake matric certificate for a job as a policeman during the 2021/2022 South African Police Service recruitment drive.
“The SAPS Management commended the provincial SAPS recruitment office personnel for their vigilance and alertness and the Anti-corruption unit for their meticulous investigation that led to this sentence,” Kock added.
