Persons over the age of 18 years are now eligible to vaccinate
Persons over the age of 18 are now eligible to inoculate from Friday,20 August. The announcement was made by the Cabinet on Thursday. According to the Cabinet, this is an attempt to increase the vaccine roll-out and that no pre-registration is required.
Those 18 years and older will visit their nearest site with their identification document to be registered and vaccinated.
Cabinet said more than nine million vaccines had been administered and over four million South Africans had been fully inoculated.
Cabinet has also stressed that scientific evidence confirms that vaccinated people stand a better chance of surviving COVID-19, adding it’s important to dispel unfounded and misleading conspiracy theories about inoculation.
