Port St Johns authors visit little Karoo

Two Port St Johns authors Elsa van der Merwe and Khathryn Castello who published Port St Johns guide book called, Port St Johns Your Destination of Choice are expected to take part in the 15th annual Boekbedonnerd Book festival in Richmond in the Northern Cape. The three-day festival is starting on 28, 29 up until 30 October 2021 in the little Karoo.
Speaking to Informer Khathryn confirmed the receipt of the invitation from the organizers of the event. She expressed her excitement about being a part of the festival. “Obviously, we’ll be showcasing Port St Johns too, and promoting our town as the destination of choice. It’s quite a prestigious event, where a shortlist of authors gets invited. We’ll be hobnobbing with professors and authors of some serious books. We will drive there and spend three nights in the little Karoo Dorpie, which is South Africa’s Booktown”, she said.
Port St Johns Your Destination of Choice book was published by this local duo through their publishing company called KC & amp; EMS publishers. It guides the travellers and helps tourists to know and understand more about the town and help them find their way around. The 174-page book has a history section written in layman’s language, as well as geography, animals, Pondo culture and information on books and movies, artists, the Sardine Run, local guides and so forth. The book has also an international ISBN number and there is a copy in the South African National Library.
