President Cyril Ramaphosa to address the nation tonight
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation tonight at 8 pm amid a continued increase in the number of deaths as a result of coronavirus. The meeting comes after the major one and the National Coronavirus Command Council and the Cabinet had a caucus earlier.
The Presidency in its statement said, “As South Africa rolls out its national COVID-19 a vaccination programme, government and social partners are continuously monitoring infection, treatment and patient recovery rates, as well as compliance with health regulations and other prevention measures.”
Currently, the death toll is sitting at 57,879, while 5,552 new cases have been recorded. Gauteng province is leading with 67% followed by the Western Cape and North West is sitting at number three.
