Three learners killed after pens down party
Three Newcastle matric learners have died, and three others injured while returning from a ‘pens down’ party.
According to the KZN Education department, the vehicle the learners were in was involved in a collision in the Amajuba District this morning.
Provincial education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says the injured schoolchildren are in ICU.
“The MEC emphasises that this is not the time for arguing but to console and to pray for the families that have lost their children and to pray for families that have their children in hospital for speedy recovery.”
“She also in a deeply sad tone sends further warning to all the children that are still contemplating to have these parties not to do so.”
They were from the Mnyamande High School.
