Two Matatiele teachers have been charged with sexual harassment

Two educators from Sive Special School in Cedarville, in the Eastern Cape Province who stand accused of sexual harassment, have been formally charged by the department and have since been served with suspension letters.

Both the accused are expected to appear before the disciplinary hearing committee this week. Two weeks ago, learners from Sive embarked on a tense protest demanding that they be protected by the department from the school rape culture.

During the protest, it emerged that sexual abuse started in 2019. The youngest victim is said to be a 14-year-old girl.
