Woman charged with arson appears in court
The formal bail application of Yamkela Mahobe (24) who is suspected of setting the Eagle Liner bus alight has been postponed to Monday.
Mahobe was arrested last week at Willowvale after allegedly setting the bus alight at the company’s bus depot on Cape Road in Newton Park.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the incident was fueled by a dispute with the bus company over a lost cell phone.
Mahobe is facing a charge of malicious damage to property.
The bus is estimated at R3.2 million.
