ANC in talks with rivals to take NM Bay Metro from DA
The African National Congress (ANC) says is willing to enter into a coalition with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to gain full control of the Nelson Mandela Bay metro from the Democratic Alliance (DA).
Both the DA and the ANC failed to get 40% of the vote. The DA lost about eight seats, while the ANC lost two seats.
Thirteen political parties will be represented in the Nelson Mandela Bay council, up from nine after the 2016 elections.
While the ANC plans to sneak to its enemy for help to gain control of the Metro, the DA ruled out going into coalition with the EFF
The official counting of the votes is expected to be announced in the evening by the Independent Electoral Commission
