BCM Councillor’s house set on fire
With only months before the local government elections take place, violence already has ensued in some wards. This is after BCM Ward 08 Councillor Ayanda Mapisa’s home was burnt in the early hours of yesterday morning in Duncan Village.
The ward covers the areas of Fynbos, Gompo and parts of Duncan Village.
We condemn this heinous act with the strongest terms.
No amount of disagreement should lead to crimes that jeopardize the lives of our public representatives and their families, being allowed to go unpunished.
“This act undermines the gains of our freedom and we call upon anyone with information to assist the police,” said the municipality.
The Buffalo City Metro has requested police to act swiftly in bringing to book those behind the torching of the home of its councillor
