Ramaphosa to testify at the Ad Hoc Committee

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to testify at the Ad Hoc Committee which is investigating the allegations that the disbandment of the PKTT was part of a plan to protect criminal cartels in the country.

This is after suspended police Minister Senzo Mchunu during his testimony at the Madlanga Commission admitted that president Ramaphosa approved of his decision to disband the PKTT.

Ramaphosa however will not testify physically, a decision that some members of the parliament including the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deemed as an unfair treatment.

Parliament’s legal team will draw up a list of questions for the president.

This was confirmed on 2 February 2026, as committee members voted that the president could respond to written questions.
