President Cyril Ramaphosa says security will be tightened for Madlanga Commission witnesses following the attempted hit on Wiandre Pretorius on Thursday morning at Boskburg. Pretorius was shot at 16 times and walked away unharmed by what police believe was a targeted hit.
“We are terribly appalled by the attempts that are being made by those who have been doing wrong things against witnesses,” the president said.
“We want to tighten security much more so that those witnesses who are giving evidence online shouldn’t be easily identified.”
Police are investigating an attempted murder case following a shooting incident in Dawn Park, Boksburg, earlier today. According to SAPS, Wiandre Pretorius was about to drive into his residence when he was attacked by unknown suspects. Pretorius was mentioned by the late Witness D at the Madlanga Commission
